Family Emergent Reader Workshops

Foundations for Futures uses research based strategies to connect home and school by creating sustainable family workshops that build a strong literacy foundation.
There are three workshops in Series #1: Supporting our Emergent Readers. Each workshop is designed for 60-90 minute sessions that guide families through literacy strategies that can be duplicated at home.
The workshops can be conducted in two ways: Foundations for Futures presents (when within driving distance) or as a Train the Trainer model to train lead teachers to present.
Our Train the Trainer session guides lead teachers, coaches, and administrators through the process of increasing literacy partnerships between school and home. We take a close look at creating consistent two-way communication, collaboration with families, and overcoming common barriers. Participants will leave the session feeling confident to deliver the Family Literacy Workshops at their school, and create lasting literacy partnerships.
